    ‘The Bride’: First Look At Jessie Buckley And Christian Bale As The Bride And Frank In Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Retelling Of The Frankenstein Story

    Everybody enjoys a good remake of a classic film. And Maggie Gyllenhall is carrying the brunt of the responsibility. The well-known Frankenstein story is gaining a fresh perspective. The actress and the filmmaker, Maggie Gyllenhall posted a few pictures on Instagram on April 4th, promoting her new film, ‘The Bride’. The movie features Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley as his bride.

    The first glimpse of Jessie Buckley as The Bride could be seen in the second slide of the post. She has blonde hair and eyebrows with blood flowing from her mouth. Similarly, in the next slide, Christian Bale as Frankenstein is featured. He is covered with tattoos, stitches, and ripped clothing and has that punk monster look which looks very savage. They both look fantastic for the first look.

    The movie will also feature Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening, and the movie will be set in 1930s Chicago. Furthermore, Actress Buckley also shared that she is grateful to work with Gyllenhaal. “We fell in love working on The Lost Daughter. I feel so grateful that I get to be part of a coin of extraordinary women who have so much to say, such brilliant minds, and such imagination.”

    What Could Be Expected From ‘The Bride’

    Many people have high expectations from the film. In an earlier interview with The Independent Sarsgaard revealed that the film will be an energizing, deeply romantic, and crazy punk monster movie. Additionally, he also mentioned how the movie would be different from her previous movie, “The Lost Daughter”.

    Buckley’s titular character is revived with the phrase “lusts for romance and ignites a radical social movement.” The movie is all set to hit the theatres in October 2025.
