The Cannibal Holocaust
This is one of the most truly disturbing films to ever have been shot on camera. The film however goes a bit too far as there were real lives that were lost in the shoot. The movie came out on 7 February 1980. It is an Italian horror movie and was a part of a huge controversy. The film depicts one of the most realistic and graphic violent scenes ever. The director was arrested after the release because the audience thought that a few actors were not acting but were actually killed.
A Serbian Film
As the name suggests, this is a Serbian exploitation horror film produced and directed by Srđan Spasojević. The film came out in 2010 and the plot follows the story of a pornstar. Srđan Todorović, Sergej Trifunović, and Jelena Gavrilović star in the film and it is no doubt one of the most disturbing films of all time.

Pink Flamingo
One word for this film? Disgusting. To your surprise, this movie is actually an American comedy. The film follows a drag queen who is trying to maintain her status as the filthiest person. But there are some people who try to steal this title from her. In one of the scenes, the charters eat dog feces which was later confirmed to be real.
Nekromantik
The movie is so disturbing that it can actually make you physically and mentally ill. A character in this film is accidentally shot and actually dies. It was released on November 1st, 1987, and is a German horror film. The plot of the movie involves a man who cleans dead bodies and brings a corpse of a Gardner into his home to his girlfriend who is fascinated by it. Not only this, there are several scenes involving the girlfriend using the corpse for her pleasure.
Salo
‘Salò’ or the ‘120 Days of Sodom‘ is a 1975 horror art film directed and co-written by Pier Paolo Pasolini. The film came out in Italy on November 22, 1975. However, most countries still have it banned from their theatres. The movie contains scenes of kids being physically and mentally tortured. In fact, someone murdered Pasolini a mere three weeks before the release date of the film and it remains an unsolved case even to this day.
I Spit On Your Grave
The film was written, directed, and produced by Mier Zarchi. It came out on the screens on November 22, 1978. The film was again a highly controversial one for its over-the-top violent scenes and a very long scene showing the sexual assault of a girl. However, the girl escapes. In the movie, the victim of the assaults takes revenge on her attackers by mutilating each one of them in the goriest and most violent ways.
Guinea Pig: Flowers Of Flesh And Blood
The film is part of a Japanese film series called ‘Guinea Pig’. ‘Flowers of Flesh And blood‘ is the second film in the series and came out on November 30, 1985. The movie follows a con artist who dresses as a samurai and kidnaps a woman. He drugs her and cuts her into pieces and adds them to his collection. People still believe that the producers should be arrested as the killing was real.
Caligula
This film is widely known for its disturbing impact on the audience. The film is famous for the cast of A-List actors like Teresa Ann Savoy, Helen Mirren, Peter O’Toole, John Steiner, and John Gielgud. It came out in 1979 and tells a tale of the rise and fall of the Roman Emperor Caligula. There are hardcore nudity and sex scenes which portray negative meanings. A lot of countries have banned this film.
Martyrs
The movie came out in May 2008 at the Cannes film festival. It is a Frech Canadian thriller movie that delves into subjects like psychological torture and also physical torture. The movie includes various scenes of graphic violence, suicide, and mental illness. It follows two girls named Ana and lucy who are running away from people who abused lucy. She enters people’s houses and kills them. However, lucy kills herself in the end not being able to bear it all.
Saw
‘Saw‘ is one of the most interesting horror films and if you love to watch horror films this is a must-watch. James Wan is the director of this film. The story follows a criminal genius called Jigsaw. He is an evil man who not only tortures and kills people but also in his own style. He plays a kind of game with them also proving them a chance to survive. And don’t forget there is an excellent plot twist waiting for you.
