As of September 14, according to Forbes, “The film’s trailer has been flooded with 1.5 million dislikes from angry ‘fans’ – despite YouTube removing the dislike counter, the numbers are still available through an extension.” All the hate was just because a non-white actress was starred as Ariel. It’s really insane how people get agitated about what’s happening in a movie for the kids. This was not the only negative reaction. A Twitter account had released photos of Ariel that had been morphed using AI into a white redhead instead of the actress, Halle Bailey. The tweet also assured the disturbed fans that upon the release of the whole movie, it would be corrected using AI. Wonder what “corrected” means in this context.
