‘Wednesday‘ star Jenna Ortega has had one of the biggest years in 2022, and surprisingly, they all are horror films. The 21-year-old actress, who started her journey with Disney rose to fame for her portrayal of Wednesday Addams. The dark gloomy character helped her land roles in various other slasher films, one of which is the ‘Scream‘ series, where Ortega played Tara Carpenter.
After her performance, fans waited for another part to see her reprise her role again. Disappointment washed over fans as it has been revealed that she wouldn’t be joining the franchise’s next film. Here’s why.

Jenna Ortega’s Role In ‘Scream’
The ‘Wednesday‘ star played Tara Carpenter in the film franchise and was quick to become one of the crowd-favorite characters. Ortega herself loved playing that role and had talked about how much she loved the franchise as a kid. “I have so much love for it,“ she said, talking to MTV.
She also talked about what she had learned on the set of the film: “Something I learned is the importance of chemistry. The entire cast got along so well that when it came to actually working together, things flowed really naturally. Then seeing the original cast work was a great learning experience to watch them just flip into these characters they’ve played for 25 years just like that.”
She had made it pretty clear that it was her dream role. In another interview, she said, “It’s crazy! It’s weird too, because when I first started, I said I always wanted to do horror, so this is a huge dream come true. I don’t even think there are words in the English language to correctly express how happy, excited and nervous I am for this journey. It’s just so amazing to me.”

After Melissa Barrera got fired from the franchise, following her comments about the Israel- Hamas war, Jenna Ortega is the next star to walk out of the franchise.

According to some sources, it’s being said that her departure has to do with Melissa’s exit after her supporting Palestine. Others, however, have declined.
Some sources have also said that her departure is related to her payroll and that she demanded a heavier check which the film franchise declined.
It’ll be interesting to see what turn the next Scream film will take after two of their main characters have walked out of the franchise.
