‘You Hurt My Feelings’ Plot
In ‘You Hurt My Feelings,’ Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars as Beth, a novelist who begins to feel like her best days are behind her. While she faces several shadows of doubt and is reduced to teaching creative writing to students, she has a great support system in her supportive husband, Don (Tobias Menzies), and friend Sarah (Michaela Watkins). It all falls apart one day.
Beth overhears her husband talking to Mark (Arian Moayed) about how Beth’s writing hasn’t been excellent for a long time. This sends tremors down her body as she tries to move past her degree of deception in the relationship. Beth and Don try to move past their lack of communication, but returning to what they had won’t be easy. The movie comes from the filmmaker’s insecurity about being a successful artist and how it shapes her life.
