As Taylor Swift fans gear up for her eleventh studio album ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘, Joe Alwyn seems to be worrying a little about what the album will reveal about his six-year relationship with the singer.
Fans have started theorizing that Swift will finally bring out the details of her relationship with Alwyn and why it ended. As a response, Alwyn has finally spoken out on how he feels about the possibility of Swift shading him in her new album.
Is Taylor Swift Taking A Dig At Joe Alwyn In Her New Album?
Taylor Swift has always used her music to communicate about her private life to her fans. Be it a ruthless breakup anthem about a bad ex, or a new love she has found; her songwriting has always been a means through which she writes about her life.
Because of this, fans have started speculating that Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘, might be an ode to Joe Alwyn and the reasons why the relationship broke apart. Certain track names have brought in curiosity for fans, while some have already made connections between the song titles and parts of her and Alwyn’s love life.
Quite interestingly, the album name seems to be a reference to Alwyn too, who in 2022 had revealed that he, Paul MesCal, and Andrew Scott have a group chat called ‘Tortured Man Club’.

As fans speculate what new details will be revealed in the album, Joe Alwyn has seemingly spoken up about the potential diss album.

Joe Alwyn Speaks Out On Taylor Swift’s New Album
According to Daily Mail, Jow Alwyn is confident that Swift’s album name makes reference to the group chat he has with his friends and is now apparently worried about what else she might put on the album.
An insider close to the actor has said, “Joe has not said one word about Taylor or their breakup and has been completely respectful of her. It’s undeniable that the name of her upcoming album is in reference to Joe’s WhatsApp group chat.”
Further they continued, “Taylor knocked him for the name of this when they were together. She didn’t want people to think that it had anything to do with her, so when he spoke out about it, she was, of course, bothered. Joe has no reason to believe yet that she is going to diss him or their relationship.”
Alwyn is hoping that the album is just a reflection of their time together and hopefully not a dissing album against him. The insider added, “She writes about her past using code and points of reference. It may just be that she is reflecting on their time together and he is hoping it is nothing more. If it is a diss album, that is shady. He helped her with song writing on her past album so it will really come as a shock to him if she talks about their breakup, as it is something he has not spoken of at all.”
‘The Tortured Poets Department‘ comes out on April 19th.
