After kicking the Continental bad guys, Keanu Reeves is all set to bring his hobby back to the front seat. The ‘John Wick’ actor’s band, Dogstar, revived their Instagram account in 2022 after 20 years of disbanding it. On their Instagram account, the band has been teasing with behind-the-scenes pictures and glimpses from private concerts.
Recently, the band’s Instagram page posted a picture with the trio—Robert Mailhouse, Bret Damrose, and Keanu Reeves—teasing about new music. They received an overwhelming response to the post. Along with a picture, the band captioned it, “Thank you everyone for the kind comments. We are overjoyed to see such a response. I honestly didn’t expect this. It makes us want to play out even more.”
The band continued, “We will be rolling out some new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as it’s all figured out, we will let everyone know immediately. So much to do, but rest assured, we are on it and have assembled a fantastic team that is helping us.”
The ‘Corner Store’ crooners continued, “We are also going to make a music video to support our first tune. That’s all I can say now. I can’t wait to share our new music with everyone. It’s the most satisfying and meaningful batch of songs we’ve ever done. Thanks again for being so patient with us. We truly have the best, most loyal fans!”

The Actor Weighs On Why The Band Received Heavy Criticism
During an interview with GQ magazine in 2019, Keanu Reeves talked about Dogstar and how his shift to music led to the downfall of the band. He said, “I guess it would have helped if our band was better.”
The actor recalled, “We played Milwaukee Metal Fest. Got killed. I think we played close to [belligerent New York hardcore-punk legends] Murphy’s Law. Imagine. So we played a Grateful Dead cover, at Milwaukee Metal Fest.”
He continued, “We were like, ‘They hate us. What are we doing here? What can we do? Let’s do the Grateful Dead cover.’ They were just like, F*** you, you suck. I had the biggest grin on my face, man.”
