“It’s Like Challenging Someone’s Faith In God”: Jack Antonoff Defends Taylor Swift’s Songwriting Prowess Amidst New Album Anticipation

In addition to a mega fandom that is capable of shifting economies, Taylor Swift also has a loyal friend group. The singer has always been open about her friendships and how those real friends have helped her survive in this industry filled with snakes. One of those many friends is Tay’s producer Jack Antonoff.

Jack and Taylor first met in 2012 at the MTV EMAs. An acquaintance from another after-party turned into them working on songs together to winning Grammys together. Antonoff’s first project with Swift was her 2014 album 1989 which went on to set the record of being the most-awarded pop album in history.

Recently the Grammy-winning producer sat to have a chat with The Los Angeles Times and of course, he was asked about his buddy Taylor Swift. When discussing the opinions around Tay’s songwriting skills Jack described it in the most metaphorical way ever. He said,  “Its like challenging someone’s faith in God. You just don’t go there.”As a long-time collaborator and best friend of Swift, he dismisses the claims that she doesn’t write her songs.

Addressing any potential collaboration with Karma’ singer’s number one nemesis Antonoff shrugs while stating. “It’s been a long time since I would’ve taken Kanye’s call.”  Being in the loyal Swift squad he doesn’t mince words when it comes to Kanye West. The artist states that the rapper “just needs his diaper changed so badly.” Jack doesn’t hold back an inch when it comes to defending his bff for he confessed very proudly. “I’m a little b**ch sometimes. But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.”

Among the controversial side of questions, Antonoff was also asked to comment on Swift’s upcoming album. ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ is due to drop on April 19th of this year and fans are eager for whatever information they can get. But Antonoff remains tight-lipped letting Swift do her noble work of dropping enticing hints.

The megastar announced her 11th studio album while accepting her 13th Grammy Award. In all Taylor Swift fashion, she’s been dropping hints throughout her shows since then. The singer has been teasing fans with lyrics and themes keeping them on their toes. She even released the tracklist which revealed that the album will have 17 songs.
