Katy Perry’s Farewell To The ‘American Idol’ Stage
Katy Perry, the iconic judge of ‘American Idol’ announced the big news in her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The upcoming season which will be Season 22 of the talent show, would be her swan song on the popular singing competition. The ‘Teenage Dream’ singer expressed her deep connection to the show. She told the show host Jimmy Kimmel, “I mean, I love Idol so much. It’s connected with me like the heart of America. But I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse, that pulse to my own beat.”
When Jimmy speculated if Katy’s fellow judges were aware of this big decision she nonchalantly said, “Well, they’ll find out tonight.” The singer continued, “Well, they know that I have some things planned for this year. The ‘Roar’ singer spent quite a lot of time in the studio these past months which must’ve given it away.

Katy Is Creating Space For New Beginnings
Now that the pop queen is leaving her seat there’s the question of who is going to fill it after her. The talk show host questioned the singer about a possible successor and if there will be a ceremonial farewell. Katy, without giving any masterplans away replied, “Let’s just say I’m creating space for my new wingspan.”
So far there have been no new music announcements but the pop sensation is gearing up for a performance at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil later this year. Katy’s last season on ‘American Idol’ kicks off on February 18.
