Scott Borchetta is trying to extend an olive branch towards Taylor Swift, it seems, as the music mogul penned a sweet letter remembering the first day he met Taylor Swift, as fans launched into a hate train towards him, calling him fake and manipulative.
Swift and Borchetta have not been on good terms ever since the latter sold her masters to Scooter Braun without her consent, which led to Swift having to re-release all her past music. Here’s what Scott wrote on Instagram and what their dispute was.

“It was 20 years ago today,” Scott wrote. “A Beatles reference may not be too far off the mark. Today marks the 20th anniversary of my first meeting with Taylor. A day that changed both of our lives. This photo was taken two nights later at the Bluebird Cafe. You see the back of my head, bottom left, T, and then Andrea across the room. Always proud of the art and the work she did while we were together and just as proud of her now. Keep crushing it… xx.“
It’s worth noting that Taylor and Scott have been on sour terms ever since he sold her masters without her consent. Swift has spoken up about being displeased at Scott multiple times and fans saw his social media post as surprising and alarming. Here’s how they reacted.

Scott Borchetta is the smallest man who ever lived for posting about this memory considering he helped orchestrate the seizure of all of her music, he stole it from her – he is literally why we have Taylor’s Version everything. Gross. https://t.co/RH7IdIlFF3

It’s beyond disrespectful for Scott Borchetta to even mention Taylor. He sold her life’s work against her wishes, and now he’s trying to cash in on her legacy with empty nostalgia? Taylor’s success is hers alone, and no amount of revisionist history can change that. https://t.co/5OY94qHg4C
