Selena Gomez was speaking on the ‘Smartless‘ podcast, as she opened up about her journey in the music industry. “I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun. But the older I get, the more I’m kind of like, ‘I would like to find something to just settle on,'” she said.

Gomez also mentioned acting as one of the other things that brought her a sense of achievement. “But I was doing my TV show [“Wizards of Waverly Place”] at the same time and I just found it really fun so I just kept going,” she said. “But the older I get, the more I’m kind of like, ‘I would like to find something to just settle on.’”

She then went on to say that she may not continue her career in music for much longer, and would instead focus on acting. “I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting. I am gonna wanna chill because I’m tired,” she said.

Gomez has three albums under her belt since her solo debut in 2013 with ‘Stars Dance’, including her latest release ‘Rare‘ in 2020. Gomez has tried her hand in music, television, and film, and has seemingly aced all of it.

Gomez’s personal life, however, has been a bit rough. Because of her mental health issues that stemmed from her lupus diagnosis, her ‘Revival‘ tour in 2016 got canceled. Her former assistant Theresa had opened up about how severe the situation was in Gomez’s Apple TV+ documentary, ‘My Mind and Me.

At one point she’s like, ‘I don’t want to be alive right now. I don’t want to live,’” Gomez’s former assistant Theresa said. “And I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’” Theresa recalled.

It was one of those moments where you look in her eyes and there’s nothing there. It was just pitch black. It’s so scary,” she said. “You’re like, ‘F–k this. This needs to end. We need to go home,’” she said.

The singer has been very open about her struggles with mental health. She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has gone through multiple treatments. She hasn’t shied away from sharing her experiences, and also spoken about them at a mental health forum at the White House in May 2022.
