News of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg‘s collaboration for the album ‘Missionary’ has been surfacing for over a year now but there have been no updates about it. Soon after millions of people had their eyes at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics, Snoop Dogg gave a special surprise to his fans.

Paris Olympics was a showcase of great skill sets and art. Snoop Dogg was an integral part of the celebration of athletes from around the globe. The rapper even performed during the closing ceremony with Dr. Dre with some new exciting information slip.

Dr. Dre Teased A Collaboration With Snoop Dogg

Discussing about the closing ceremony with Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Dre was asked about the upcoming projects including ‘Missionary’. When asked about the album he replied, “I did a couple of songs, I’m not sure one of them is gonna make it. We have Sting on a song, we have… Man, it’s an amazing roster of artists on this album, I shouldn’t have even said that, to be honest”.

The unexpected collaboration adds a twist to the forthcoming album and already carried the weight of being the full-length project album with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg since their iconic 1993 album ‘Doggystyle’.

Their friendship in the music industry has been iconic with great musical chemistry. And ‘Missionary’ promises to be the continuation of their strong friendship.

Dr. Dre Claims The Album Will Be A Certified Banger

Their legendary friendship started when Dre’s groundbreaking 1992 album ‘The Chronic’, introduced Snoop Dogg to the world. He later set the stage with his debut album ‘Doggystyle. Dre shared, “This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career.”

The Compton native added, “It’s an album that women are going to enjoy, and like I said, it shows a massive amount of growth and maturity with the lyrics and with the music.”

Dre also shared some insight related to the album. He said he wanted 14 songs in the album while Snoop wanted 16. They both are planning for a November release and should complete it by September 1.
