Reputation (Taylor’s Version) Is On The Way
Currently on tour, Swift just dropped ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)‘ a month ago. But now it seems, she’s almost ready to move on to her next re-recording ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version)‘. As a snippet of the critically acclaimed ongoing series ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ has surfaced online where her song Delicate’s re-recorded version can be heard, fans are now speculating that ‘Reputation‘ might be the next re-recording.
This isn’t the first time that the series has featured a Taylor Swift song. In the previous season as well a lot of Swift’s songs were featured as Jenny Han, whose book the series is based upon is a certified Swiftie.
In case you don’t know, Taylor releases never before heard songs in each of her re-recorded albums. She calls them ‘Vault Tracks’. These are songs that didn’t make the final cut of the original album. Hence she releases these with her re-recordings.
Reputation is known as one of her most ‘iconic’ albums as she made it after a long hiatus of being canceled after the Kim-Kanye drama. The album mostly consists of songs she wrote for her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Out of the 15 tracks on the album, 11 are written for Alwyn.

Why Is Taylor Swift Re-recording All Of Her Albums?
Taylor Swift declared plans to re-record her earlier albums as a result of a disagreement with her former record label, Big Machine Label Group. Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings acquired Big Machine Label Group in November 2020. That gave him control of Taylor’s master recordings for her first six albums.
She expressed her dissatisfaction with not holding the rights to her own music. She also spoke about not having a say in the decision to sell her master. By re-recording her old albums, she aims to have ownership and control over the new master recordings. This allows her to profit from the new recordings. And also gives her more creative control over the use and licensing of her music going forward.
As of now, she has re-recorded three of her studio albums- including ‘Red’, ‘Speak Now’, and the critically acclaimed ‘Fearless‘. The re-recording of ‘Reputation’, ‘1989’ and her debut album, ‘Taylor Swift‘ is still left.
