Taylor Swift has become an unstoppable force with her latest ‘Eras Tour,’ as she has been setting new benchmarks of artistry and business with each pit stop. She has been on the road with the tour since March 2023. During the tour, Swift surprised fans with new music, album announcements, and stunning visual treats with her serenading music.
However, during the ‘Eras Tour’, Taylor Swift’s personal life suffered many bumps. It started with her breakup with her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn, at the start of the tour. Within a few days, Taylor Swift started dating Matty Healy, ‘The 1975’ frontman. She received a lot of flak for dating the artist due to his misogynistic and xenophobic commentary. They broke up within two months of dating. Now the rumors are strong that she is dating Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Travis Kelce, and during one of the matches, the commentators teased him with a ‘1989’ song reference.
NFL Announcer Gets Cheeky With Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ Reference During Travis Kelce’s Touchdown
Taylor Swift has found a stan in NFL commentator Ian Eagle during an NFL game! Recently, Swift announced that she will be releasing Taylor’s version of ‘1989’ in October 2023 during the ‘Eras Tour.’
Now, during the Kansas City Chiefs game with the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 17, 2023, Ian Eagle made a cheeky comment when Travis Kelce had his first touchdown. Eagle said, “Kelce finds a blank space for the score,” referencing the 2014 hit song ‘Blank Space’ from the ‘1989’ album when Travis caught a pass in the end zone.
Rumors about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dating made the rounds after Deuxmoi and other gossip sites speculated about the two being together. The Messenger further confirmed that the two were dating, saying, “Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out. She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”
Travis Kelce Addresses The Dating Rumors Of Him And The Artist
During a podcast with Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, he confessed that he tried to give his number to Taylor Swift during the Kansas City stop of the ‘Eras Tour.’ He said, “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
Travis added, “I received a bunch of [friendship bracelets] being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.” The NFL star took things personally, because “she doesn’t meet anybody or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally.”
During a recent interview with Andrew Siciliano, Travis Kelce skillfully dodged the question about Taylor Swift. Andrew asked Kelce whether he really had his number on a bracelet for Taylor Swift.
Travis answered, “I said what I said. And I meant what I said when I said it. And you know what, it is what it is. I’m not gonna talk about my personal life…I know what you writers wanna hear, and you wanna hear more about that and I’m not gonna give you anything.”
The host further poked him and asked if Taylor Swift had reached out. Travis said, “And that’s gonna wrap it up here.”
