Netflix has finally announced the ‘Dead Boy Detectives‘ series release date. The series is based on the DC comics ‘Dead Boy Detectives’ written by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner. Moreover, it is set to premiere on Netflix on April 25, 2024. It was originally supposed to air on HBO MAX. However, it moved to Netflix as it did not fit the new director for Max-DC content.
The novel comes under ‘The Sandman‘ universe which revolves around supernatural mysteries and adventures, augmenting the already rich world. Additionally, this universe was launched to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Gaiman’s ‘The Sandman’, which has also been adapted into a Netflix series.

What Is ‘Dead Boy Detectives’ About?
‘Dead Boy Detectives‘ revolves around the adventures of Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland who are two dead best friends, setting off the supernatural tone. Despite their mysterious deaths, the two ghosts run a detective agency where they solve mysterious and paranormal cases. Moreover, they take the help of two side characters Niko and clairvoyant Crystal.
According to the official synopsis of the series, the ghostly detectives decided not to enter the afterlife. It reads, “Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine decided not to enter the afterlife to stay on earth and investigate crimes that involve supernatural stuff.”

The Cast Of ‘Dead Boy Detectives’
The two young detectives on ‘Dead Boy Detectives‘ are played by George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri. George portrays Edwin Payne and Jayden plays Charles Rowland in the series. Their tech-savvy friend Crystal Palace is played by Kassius Nelson and her friend Niko is portrayed by Yuyu Kitamura.
Also, some of the additional characters are Lukas Gage as Thomas the Cat King, Michael Beach as Tragic Mick, Joshua Colley as Monty, Lindsey Gort as Maxine, Caitlin Reilly as Lily, Max Jenkins as Kingham, and David Iacono as David the Demon.
