The Netflix special ‘Stranger Things‘ actor Noah Schnapp often makes it into the tabloid of famous news articles. However, for the last few months of 2023, Noah hasn’t been in the positive limelight though he made it to the headlines.
One reason that Schnapp recently faced backlash was his say on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict — a heated topic which has its reaches far into the west with major celebrities defending and fighting for both the sides. Schnapp has had his fair say in the matter, which worked against him to his dismay. The actor has now opened up about the backlash he is facing.

Noah Schnapp’s Support For Israel Amid Ongoing War Receives Backlash
Noah Schnapp is Jewish in origin, and has voiced his opinions in favor of Israel amid the ongoing war. He has been consistently supporting Israel since the early phase of the whole debate that peaked last year in the western media.
The ‘Stranger Things‘ actor has been quite vocal about his distaste for Hamas, though he does separate Palestine from the Hamas group in particular. In one of his earlier social media posts, Schnapp had asserted that he hopes “we can agree that Hamas are a recognized terrorist organization“,
“They don’t represent the Palestinian people when they value murdering Israelis more than protecting their own. You either stand with Israel or you stand with terrorism. It shouldn’t be a difficult choice. Shame on you,” he added in the post.
People from across the globe slammed Noah for siding with Israel, though the actor refrained from reacting to the criticism until now.

“My Thoughts And Beliefs Have Been So Far Misconstrued”: Noah Reacts To Criticism
The vehement backlash finally hit Noah, and he posted a video on social media on Monday to address it. Taking to Tik-Tok through a video, the actor broke silence on the controversy. partly admitting his fault while also maintaining his original stance about the war.
The actor said that his views have been mis-constructed. He claimed that he too wants peace and safety to prevail on both the sides. “I feel like my thoughts and beliefs have been so far misconstrued from anything even close to what I believe, and I wanted to just state from my heart how I feel,” he said.
“I think anyone with any ounce of humanity would hope for an end to the hostility on both sides. I stand against any killing of any innocent people and I hope you guys all do, too. And I just hope to one day see those two groups be able to live harmoniously together in that region,” he added.
Despite the video, the backlash did not mellow down. Some users on TikTok pointed out how his statement came after a long time. Some also suggested that the timing of the video is a bit suspicious as the shooting of the final season of ‘Stranger Things’ started just a week back. Some speculate that his statement came after the show’s PR team interfered and advised him to do so.
