Truth Behind Kildare Island County Explored
‘Outer Banks’ has been praised for its storyline and performances but it has also been loved for its flawless cinematography. The place Kildare is the main highlight of the show and fans have been eager to know if the place is real or fictional.
However, fans will be disappointed to know that the place does not exist but it is inspired from a real place. Kildare County is a portmanteau of the Kill Devil Hills, a town in Outer Banks.
Kill Devil Hills has the best beaches and is the birthplace of aviation where the Wright brothers also took their first flight in 1903. It has a huge population and is the largest in Dare County. Fans will never be able to find the Kildare Island in real but a visit to Outer Banks will leave them satisfied.
As for the show, it is filmed in Charleston, South Carolina.
