Industry titan Robert De Niro is heading into the world of streaming services. The Academy Award-winning actor will star in the political thriller series’ Zero Day‘ for Netflix. In addition, to starring, Robert De Niro will also produce the series with Netflix.
‘The Godfather‘ and ‘Taxi Driver’ actor has more than 150 film credits to his name. In addition to acting, he’s also directed the 1993 film ‘A Bronx Tale‘ and the 2006 film ‘The Good Shepherd.‘ One of the finest American actors, De Niro, is joining hands with Netflix for his small-screen debut.

‘Zero Day’: Plot Details
Variety reported that Netflix has finally given Robert De Niro-led series the green light after being in development since November 2022. “Zero Day asks the question on everyone’s mind — how do we find truth in a world in crisis, one seemingly being torn apart by forces outside our control? And in an era rife with conspiracy theory and subterfuge, how much of those forces are products of our own doing, perhaps even of our own imagining?” reads the first synopsis of ‘Zero Day.’

What an honor to have this A-list caliber of talent assembled, led by the iconic Robert De Niro and brought to life by the unrivaled talents of Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, Lesli Linka Glatter and Michael S. Schmidt,” said Peter Friedlander, vice president of scripted series for Netflix in the US and the Canadian marketplace.

‘Zero Day’: Cast And Other Details
So far, Robert De Niro is the only casting for this Netflix-bound limited series. Robert De Niro has previously worked with Netflix on Martin Scorsese directed ‘The Irishman,’ playing Frank Sheeran. ‘Zero Day‘ is his first series for the streaming giants. The project has been in development at Netflix since November 2022.
‘Zero Day‘ is created and written by Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheim. There’s no release date yet, but hopefully, that will change now that Netflix has given the series its greenlight. Netflix has confirmed ‘Zero Day‘ with ‘The Irishman‘ star will have six episodes. Leslie Linka Glatter will direct all six episodes for ‘Zero Day.’
