Evan Rachel Wood Is The ‘Amber Heard 2.0’
Wood accused Marilyn Manson of abusing her when she was 18 and he was 37. She accused him of sexual charges in February 2021. Fast forward to March 2022, Marilyn Mason denied the accusations and filed defamation against his ex-fiance.
Bot Sentinel CEO Christopher Bouzy investigated the Twitter hate campaigns targeting Amber Heard and came to the conclusion that the 34-year-old actress will be the next target. The online trolling and abuse started with hashtags like #AmberHeard2.0 and #MenToo.
“Twitter trolls who targeted Amber Heard and her allies have recently started targeting Evan Rachel Wood and Cassidy Hutchinson. The trolls compared the women to Amber Heard and used the same abusive tactics against the women,” Bouzy wrote.
A Deeper Look Into The Report
The report is titled, ‘Targeted Trolling and Trend Manipulation: How Organized Attacks Against Amber Heard and Other Women Thrive on Twitter.’ It found 3,288 accounts using the hashtags #AmberHeardIsAnAbuser and #AmberHeardIsALiar. 24% of these 3,288 accounts were created in the last seven months.
Regarding this finding, the executive director of the Center for Countering Digital Hate, Imran Ahmed, said, “It is alarming how many accounts appear to be set up specifically to anonymously abuse, harass and terrorize other people, including public figures on social media. No one should have to put up with abuse, it acts as a toll on public discourse.”
