Twitter has gone through an overhaul ever since Elon Musk bought the company last year for $44 billion. To recover this heavy sum and cut costs, the billionaire took some major steps. This meant firing half of the workforce and introducing a new policy called Twitter Blue.
This policy has been rolled out by the company and many high-profile names across the globe have lost their blue verification check marks on the platform. However, there are many celebrities who earlier criticized Musk for this decision but are now subscribing to it. Let’s find out who they are.

Chaos Over Elon Musk’s Twitter Blue
Elon Musk-owned Twitter started ending the legacy verified badges from the platform in April. This means all the high-profile users, who did not pay the $8 monthly fee, ended up losing their verified blue check marks.
Ever since it was announced last year, many celebrities have called out Musk and his policy. Most of them were those who enjoyed the badges for many years. Novelist Stephen King and ‘Star Trek‘ actor William Shatner are two examples. Jack Black also refused to pay for the check mark but his account continues to be verified.
While Musk has admitted that he is personally paying for NBA player LeBron James‘ monthly fee, it is still unclear whether Shatner, King, and Black are also on the list. If that is not the case, then these celebrities can be deemed hypocrites as they also slammed Musk and his Twitter policies.

Celebs That Are Paying For Twitter Blue
Right after the social media giant started removing the legacy badges, several celebrities’ accounts got unverified. But there are some big names that have decided to pay and retain their badges.
Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Miley Cyrus are some of those who have churned out $8 to the platform. Britney Spears, Cardi B, Coldplay, David Guetta, Snoop Dogg, and The Weeknd have also retained their check marks.
Apart from musical artists, some actors have also paid for Twitter Blue. These include Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, John Cena, and Neil Patrick Harris. Influencers and talk show hosts like Jimmy Fallon, Ellen DeGeneres, Mr. Beast, and even Khloe Kardashian have also paid to retain their verified status.
