Elon Musk Wants An End To AI Training
Billionaire Elon Musk was once a proponent of artificial intelligence (AI). However, lately, he has become one of the most vocal critics of this technology and has been warning everyone about it.
According to BBC, several key figures in this field (along with Musk) have written an open letter warning everyone of the potential risks of AI. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and DeepMind researchers have also signed the letter.
“AI systems with human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity,” the letter from Future of Life Institute says. It also says that in “recent months have seen AI labs locked in an out-of-control race to develop and deploy ever more powerful digital minds that no-one – not even their creators – can understand, predict, or reliably control“.
The letter also talks about the potential impact AI will have on jobs as they will be replaced by automation, questioning whether we should develop a technology that might “eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete [sic] and replace us.”

Musk Mock Bill Gates Over His Knowledge Of AI
OpenAI, the company that has developed the much talked about chatbot ChatGPT and ChatGPT-4 is backed by Bill Gates‘ Microsoft. Being one of the early investors of OpenAI, Musk met with Gates several times.
He recently responded to a tweet in which Sandy Kory was praising Gates and his approach toward AI. ‘I’d been meeting with the team from OpenAI since 2016…” –from Bill Gates’ essay The Age of AI Has Begun. It’s big when someone like Gates is so bullish on AI. Also notable that MSFT has been tracking this so closely for so long,” he said.
“I remember the early meetings with Gates. His understanding of AI was limited. Still is,” he wrote in a different tweet. Musk left the company in 2018 over a conflict of interest.
