In a brief video, the author stated that he would not be present for the Los Angeles premiere that was to take place on Wednesday, July 27. The San Diego Comic-Con was his most recent public appearance. So, why was Martin absent?
George R R Martin Skips ‘House Of The Dragon’ Premiere
George R R Martin skipped the local premiere of ‘House of the Dragon‘ after testing positive for COVID-19. Casey Bloys, chief content officer for HBO and HBO Max, reportedly broke the news to the crowd at the Los Angeles premiere of the forthcoming fantasy series regarding Martin’s absence on Wednesday evening.
“I was going to start today by introducing George R.R. Martin and tell you how great it is to have George on the journey with us. Unfortunately, George got COVID at Comic-Con, so he’s not here. I think he’s feeling fine, so nothing to worry about,” Bloys Stated.
“I wanted to tell you what a pleasure it is and how lucky we are to have the architect of this world on this journey with us. He has been fantastic,” he added.
‘House Of The Dragon’ World Premiere
On July 27 in Los Angeles, California, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures played host to the premiere of ‘House of the Dragon,’ which was attended by a number of Hollywood’s most prominent actors and actresses, including Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke, and Emma D’Arcy.
The brain behind the series, George R.R. Martin, was nowhere to be seen. According to Casey Bloys of HBO, Martin was diagnosed with Covid following Comic-Con last week.
The highly awaited prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’ will debut its first episode on the 21st of August. Fans have been counting down the days till this moment. The actors of ‘Game of Thrones’ were dressed to the nines in order to attend the global premiere of the programme in Los Angeles. The event took place little under a month before the next fight for the Iron Throne is scheduled to air on television.
