“I Reject”- Saudi Prince Reacts to Elon Musk’s Bid To Buy Twitter

Saudi Prince, Alwaleed bin Talal is not with Elon Musk in the Twitter ball game.

Another turn took place in the tug of war between Twitter and billionaire tech mogul, Elon Musk. After all the Twitter drama, Musk tried to put an end to everything by proposing a $43 billion all-cash offer in a letter to the Chairman of the microblogging site, Bret Taylor.

The proposed offer mentions a huge investment, by Musk after he accumulated a substantial percentage of stakes in the social media giant. This comes after he refused to take the seat on the Twitter board and in the letter he made it clear that if the offer is not accepted, he would reconsider his take on joining as a shareholder. You must be aware of what and when started but let us give you a small recap. All of this started when Twitter users urged that Tesla’s boss should take over the platform because Twitter is not adhering to the free speech policy.

Musk is a “free speech absolutist” and heading with this, he wants to make sure that every netizen practices this on the platform. However, the Saudi Prince is not with him in this strike and rejected the offer. This denial prompted the ardemment user of Twitter, Elon Musk reacts to it.

Saudi Prince, Alwaleed bin Talal, who is a substantial shareholder, with an almost 5.2% stake in the social media giant, is not supporting Elon Musk.

Some big investors, such as Saudi Prince, stand at odds with Musk’s bid to purchase the Twitter that came after the “chilling effect” and refusing the Twitter board seat. The Saudi Prince made his decision clear and took to Twitter, where he wrote, “I don’t believe that the proposed offer by @elonmusk ($54.20) comes close to the intrinsic value of @Twitter given its growth prospects.”

Talal continued and rejected the offer, “Being one of the largest & long-term shareholders of Twitter, @Kingdom_KHC & I reject this offer.”

This took Musk’s attention, who owns more stakes than Talal, over 9% in the company, and asked some questions in the tweet.

Musk tweeted, “Interesting. Just two questions, if I may. How much of Twitter does the Kingdom own, directly & indirectly? What are the Kingdom’s views on journalistic freedom of speech?” In one of the recent TED Talks events, SpaceX founder stated that Twitter has become a “de facto town square.” As per the tech tycoon, Twitter “needs to transform as a private” company.

The estimated net worth of Mr. Musk is around $300 billion and he made the “best and final” bid so that he can “unlock” the “extraordinary potential” of the company. As per the letter, he offered $54.20 per share of Twitter.
