It seems like Kanye West does not want to give himself a break. New day, new controversy seems to be his new policy. For the past week, he has been trending over the internet. From his anti-semitic comments to his ban on social media platforms, the last few days seem to have done hefty damage to the rapper’s image.
In the earlier reports, it can be seen that Kanye had been against racism. He had also spoken out against George Floyd’s death two years back. He even made donations to Floyd’s daughter and BLM organizations. But things have changed now. Today, Ye is working in hand with Candace Owens on a campaign that goes by the name White Lives Matter. And lately, he has also made a statement in relation to the death of George Floyd and this is how Twitter reacted.
Kanye West On George Floyd’s Death
The 45-year-old rapper said that it was fentanyl and not being suffocated by the police officer’s knee, that caused the unfortunate death of Floyd. “I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out. One of the things that his two roommates said was they want a tall guy like me, and the day that he died, he said a prayer for eight minutes,” West told ‘Drink Champs‘. “They hit him with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.”
Kanye also compared Floyd’s death to that of Louis Vuitton designer Virgil Abloh. “This white company Louis Vuitton is now making statues of him as a martyr, and we don’t know why exactly [he died], they said it was cancer,” West explained. Owen’s influence can be clearly traced in the ideas shared by West. The two have been working together to propose their idea to the public for a pretty long time. The “White Lives Matter” long-sleeved shirt with other merchandise at the Paris Fashion week was part of this propaganda. The designs were presented as part of the Yeezy line at YZY SZN9.

Netizens Are Shocked By Kanye’s Comments
Though the whole ‘Drink Champs‘ interview was uploaded, it was later pulled down from the Revolt TV website for obvious reasons.
The claim about Floyd having fentanyl in his body has been going on for a very long time. But during the trial, the claims were proved false as the death was solely caused by the lack of oxygen because of the knees around Floyd’s neck.
With Kanye dropping haphazard statements now and then, it is the fans who are finding it difficult to prove that they are only fans of his music.
Some blame the change in Kanye’s opinions on the influence of his friend Candance Owens.
Netizens were also reminded of how the week has already been a piece of cake for Kanye and his fans.
