The domestic violence restraining order that was granted against Ricky Martin in Puerto Rico over the weekend has been disputed by the star. Martin’s denial comes after a statement was released by the local police department on Saturday indicating that a restraining order for domestic abuse had been obtained against him.
According to the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law, a complaint was filed under Law 54, commonly known as the Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act, but the petitioner’s name was withheld by authorities because of the nature of the law.

Ricky Martin Denies Accusations Of Domestic Violence After Police Issues Restraining Order
While Ricky Martin has been accused of domestic violence in Puerto Rico, the singer insists he’ll be vindicated in the court of public opinion.
“The allegations against Ricky Martin that lead to a protection order are completely false and fabricated,” representatives for Martin stated in an interview. “We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.”
The restraining order was tried on Friday in an elite Puerto Rican neighborhood, where the singer is from. According to police spokesperson Axel Valencia, “We haven’t been able to locate him.” It’s unclear if the court will uphold Valencia’s claim that a court order bars Martin from speaking to the complainant.
Details About The Complaint Are Still Unclear

Although the complaint’s specifics are still a mystery, according to Telemundo, in response to an ex-parte petition, Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell of the Court of First Instance of San Juan made the order. Apparently, the petitioner didn’t originally make a police report but instead went to court on their own to get a protective order.
Rebecca Drucker, his former manager, is suing him for $3 million in unpaid commissions, so surely he’s had a difficult week. For the first half of Drucker’s tenure, from 2014 to 2018, and then from 2020 to 2022, Ricky Martin was under his direction. “With Rebecca by his side, Martin generated millions of dollars and consequently owes Rebecca large commissions,” her attorneys said in a 15-page statement in support of her claim.
