Musk’s tenure as the new Twitter boss has been pretty chaotic. A new chapter titled Twitter Files has now been added. This moniker refers to several exclusive emails that exposed internal discussions on the platform.
It also unearthed a controversial decision taken by the executives during the 2020 Presidential election. The New York Post published a report that stated they have information obtained from a laptop allegedly owned by President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
Musk tweeted, “What really happened with the Hunter Biden story suppression by Twitter will be published on Twitter at 5pm ET!” However, nothing was published on the platform. Later, Substack writer Matt Taibbi posted the story as a Twitter thread.

Did Twitter Really Suppress Info About Hunter Biden’s Expose?
According to the report, emails and data obtained from Hunter Biden’s laptop revealed how Hunter traded influence with Ukrainian businesses during the 2020 Presidential election.
It reportedly also contained “a filthy, 12-minute film” of Hunter. Twitter chose to classify the content as “unsafe,” and went on to suppress related tweets and messages.
Matt claimed the micro-blogging site used “extreme measures” to hide this report by removing its links and sending user warnings. They also banned the topic’s delivery via direct messaging. Musk recently fired James Baker who was involved in this scandal.
