Chris Beard Arrested Over Assault Charges
Texas Longhorn’s basketball coach Chris Beard has been arrested over domestic violence charge on Monday, December 12. The charge is under third-degree felony.
He has been sent to custody at the Travis County Jail in Austin, Texas. Reports state that Beard assaulted one of his family members. Right after the news broke out, Beard was suspended by The University of Texas without pay.
Before serving as a coach for Texas Longhorns, Beard coached at Texas Tech, McMurry, Little Rock, and Angelo State. He was also a manager of the Longhorns’ former coach Tom Penders; he has a coaching record of 237 wins and 98 losses.

Beard married Leslie Beard on August 31, 1996. The couple has three daughters, Avery, Ella, and Margo. Born in Texas on June 21, 1974, Leslie did her graduation from McCullough High School in The Woodlands.
She also attended a US state university. Reports suggest that she is the owner of a luxury jewelry store named Space. Apart from a physical store, Leslie also has a thriving business on the internet.
Her professional Instagram account, @spacebylesliebeard is followed by more than 25,000 followers. The website sells not just jewelry but cleaning supplies, decorative items, candles, pillows, and cushions as well. The two have since parted ways. Beard is currently engaged to Randi Trew.
