Olivia Jackson, Jovovich’s stunt double got gravely injured while filming the sixth and final ‘Resident Evil’ in South Africa. She crashed into a camera crane while riding a motorcycle in a stunt. Jackson was in a coma with multiple injuries after the accident. Not only that she also suffered a brain bleed, severed artery, crushed and degloved face, multiple broken bones, damaged nerves, and amputated thumb.

But that was not the end of the tragedy. Two weeks later, she ended up losing an arm as well. She was lucky to be alive. Jackson’s injuries ruined her life completely as she was unable to go back to her career. She ended up filing a case against the director Paul W.S. Anderson. The claims were that the stunt was not planned properly and that the director gave unsafe instructions that changed the original act. She won her case in a South African court and they found the director guilty.

Jovovich offered her support over Facebook. She said that she had a “heavy heart” and wished her stunt double best wishes from her side. The star also mentioned that how Jackson still being alive was a miracle in her post.

On the set of ‘Resident Evil 6’, someone died too. Just after two months of Jackson’s accident, a South African native died after a Humvee crushed him against a wall. The man’s name was Ricardo Cornelius who was just 35 years old. He was soon rushed to the hospital but he could not be saved.

Cornelius’ death was kept a complete hush-hush for almost three weeks. No apology or condolences were offered to his family. His widow accused his local employer, crews of misleading her about the gravity of her husband’s injuries. They made her believe that her husband might recover which obviously didn’t happen. His wife also filed a lawsuit against the producers.

It seems Milla Jovovich was heartbroken over the accidents that happened on the sets of ‘Resident Evil’ and bid the franchise goodbye for her own good.
