Will Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi Return In ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2?

The Star Wars universe continues to expand, and fans may soon witness the return of a beloved character. According to insider Kristian Harloff, Ewan McGregor is rumored to reprise his iconic role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the second season of ‘Ahsoka’.

If true, this could be one of the most exciting developments for the series, which concluded its first season on a massive cliffhanger. With Obi-Wan potentially stepping back into the spotlight alongside Anakin Skywalker, ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 could deliver a satisfying conclusion.

The prospect of Ewan McGregor’s return raises several intriguing possibilities for ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2. While McGregor recently starred in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series, this rumored appearance could see him in a new light. Additionally, the first season ended with ‘Ahsoka’ and Sabine stranded on Peridea.

Introducing Obi-Wan into this mix would not only deepen the emotional resonance of their journey but also tie together key themes from Star Wars. Previously, the Mortis Gods storyline from the animated series explored profound connections between Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka.

So, revisiting these events in live-action would provide a unique opportunity to expand on their relationships. Moreover, Obi-Wan’s involvement could also serve as a narrative bridge for fans who haven’t followed The Clone Wars or Rebels.

The first season of ‘Ahsoka’ left viewers with several unresolved threads. Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return to the galaxy with the Great Mothers sets the stage for an ominous conflict. Whereas, Ezra Bridger’s reunion with Hera Syndulla offered a glimmer of hope.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Sabine’s isolation on Peridea adds a layer of urgency to their struggle. According to the insider, Anakin Skywalker will play a “pretty big role” in Season 2, likely appearing as both a Force Ghost and in flashbacks. His presence could provide crucial guidance to Ahsoka.

Dave Filoni’s recent comments about the challenges of writing ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 also showcased his dedication to delivering a satisfying continuation. “I’m still the single writer on it, and so I’ve been enjoying doing that, but it’s a challenge,” he said. “Working some of these arcs through has been a challenge and making sure it’s all going to come out in a way that I think is exciting for fans.”
