‘Star Wars: The Acolyte‘ is going to explore all the different eras of the franchise, with wider concepts and characters. The franchise keeps on expanding and fans can’t get enough of it. The series created by Leslye Headland will be set before the events of ‘Star Wars’ and will focus on Jedi investigating a series of crimes.
What’s more interesting is that ‘The Acolyte’ will focus on a new weapon in the live-action called the light whip. Just a few days before the release of the series, Leslye revealed that there was another lightsaber which created problems for the prop department.

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Lightsaber Details
‘Star Wars‘ series has given fans some great superheroes and now ‘The Acolyte’ is stepping into the game with another lightsaber, which is revealed days before the premiere of the series by Leslye Headland. Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, Headland talked about their challenges while discussing the weapon to prop department.
She said, “There was a lightsaber that I wanted to have work in a particular way. It’s not the light whip. It’s a different lightsaber and when I brought it to the prop department who have been making lightsabers for the sequels and for ‘Solo’ and the other television shows, they told me ‘You can’t do that, that’s not something that will work.'”
Leslye added that she was not ready to give up on the character, and would do anything with the help of craftsmen. Alas, she was able to work on her dream and was grateful for working with the franchise and costume designers.

More Lightwhip In ‘The Acolyte’
Fans are already aware that Lightwhip will be appearing in the series portrayed by Rebecca Henderson’s Vernestra Rwoh. The highly anticipated lightsaber originated from ‘Star Wars’ in 1997. It’s going to be exciting for the fans to explore and see more about the new lightsaber as well.
While speaking with the Collider, Rebecca Henderson revealed how it turns into a whip. She was asked about the strengths and weaknesses of her character Vernestra Rwoh and she said, “I mean, the light whip is very, very cool and powerful and awesome.”
She also continued about the character and the weapon, “You do have to twist the hilt to turn it into the light whip, basically. At this point, I believe she can do that with the force. She no longer has to do it with her hands. And then you just have to be really careful because that thing flies around. It could take your head off.”
‘The Acolyte’ premieres on 4 June 2024.
