Elon Musk has caused a wreck at X, aka Twitter, since he acquired the company in a $44 billion historic deal. After the completion of the deal in October 2022, Musk has been facing a lot of problems while running the platform. The first problem he was posed with after the takeover was advertisers leaving the platform after activists lobbied against advertising on X.
When the advertising revenue started plummeting on X, Elon Musk started mass layoffs in the company, reducing more than half of the platform’s global workforce. What followed were more layoffs and resignations and many more policy changes to compensate for the loss of advertising revenue. After the recent anti-Semitism controversy, revenue has depleted further with employees resigning. Amidst this, Musk fired an executive after he raised concerns over a security agreement breach.

Elon Musk Fires An Executive At X After He Raised Concerns Over Budget Cuts
Amidst the advertisers’ debacle, Elon Musk has fired one of the executives, Alan Rosa, from X. The decision came after Alan opposed the budget cuts proposed by the billionaire. According to him, further budget cuts would lead to a breach of a security agreement that X had with the US Federal Trade Commission.
Alan Rosa, the former head of global information security, has sued X in a lawsuit filed on December 5, 2023, in the New Jersey Federal Court. The ex-employee has accused the company of wrongful termination, alleged breach of contract, and other claims.
Alan claimed that Elon Musk asked him to cut the budget for physical security by 50% and shut down the software that enables security agencies around the world to access information about X. X and the FTC had an agreement to execute privacy security controls to protect sensitive data. Alan is aiming to gain undeclared punitive damages and compensatory and legal fees.

Elon peddled the “Great Replacement Theory” by engaging in an anti-Semitic post on X. The matter further worsened after a report claimed that X was placing advertisements next to pro-Hitler and pro-Nazi content.
Amidst the advertisers’ debacle, Elon Musk’s X is facing mass resignations at the company, as per a report by Claire Atkinson. The report suggests that the employee’s strength at X has reduced further. Many employees, at the junior and senior levels, resigned from their positions.
The report by Claire Atkinson claimed that despite Elon Musk handling bonuses for the employees, the current controversies and reduced advertising revenue have led the employees to resign. The majority of employees resigning are from the sales department.
