King Charles’s Response To Princess Diana’s Tragic Death
Princess Diana had become a global icon, thanks to her amazing dressing sense, activism, and her interviews. However, her life came to an abrupt end on August 31 1997 in Paris.
King Charles was informed about this news. According to author Tina Brown, Charles was “absolutely distraught” and “fell apart“. “He knew, instantly, that this was going to be a terrible thing, that…he will be blamed, that they [royal family] will be blamed, for the death of Diana,” Brown said.
Christopher Andersen, who has written a book on Charles, said that Charles “let out a cry of pain” after being informed of the news by Diana’s brother-in-law Robert Fellowes. Before her death, there were reports of Charles’ affairs with other women. In 2005, he tied the knot with Camilla Parker Bowles.

Prince Harry Believes She Faked Her Death
In his memoir ‘Spare‘, Prince Harry wrote about his mother’s death. Harry was 12 years old when Diana’s car crashed inside a tunnel in Paris. The crash also led to the death of her boyfriend and her driver.
The Duke of Sussex believes that it was a trick and “for once the trick wasn’t being played by the people around me, or the press, but by Mummy.” He further wrote: “Her life’s been miserable, she’s been hounded, harassed, lied about, lied to. So she’s staged an accident as a diversion and run away”.
The response of the monarchy in handling Diana’s death was heavily panned. They did not release an official statement immediately and the family was not even in London but in Scotland, away from the media.
