Prince Harry On The Meaning Of ‘Spare’
Prince Harry has revealed quite many truths about the royal family in ‘Spare‘. Stories, anecdotes alike, and recounts of incidents, Harry has said it all. The most important thing Prince Harry has discussed in ‘Spare‘ is how he has felt like the “Plan B” his whole life, among many other surprising truths.
Royal families sometimes refer to the kid who will inherit a title or estate and their sibling as “an heir and a spare.” If something were to happen to the “heir,” their younger sibling, the “spare,” would take their place. Harry’s biography claims that the then-Prince Charles said to Princess Diana following the birth of Harry. “Wonderful. Now you’ve given me an heir and a spare, my work is done,”
Prince Harry’s fiery memoir has sold well in its first week, despite the polarised public opinion. ‘Spare’ presently holds the Guinness World Record for the most copies sold in one day with 1.43 million copies sold. It outsells ‘A Promised Land,’ written by former US President Barack Obama to become the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time. After all this success, will Prince Harry put out a sequel to the book?

“It Could Have Been Two Books”: Prince Harry
According to Prince Harry, he edited his autobiographical book Spare and decided not to publish some parts because he was afraid his family wouldn’t ever forgive him. The Duke of Sussex claimed that he had enough material to write two books on his life and family and that the earlier version of Spare was twice as long as the final version in a recent interview with the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
“The first draft was different,” he said, adding, “It was 800 pages, and now it’s down to 400 pages. It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out.”
In addition, the Prince asserted that he had enough information to compile a second book about the Royal Family. He refrained from sharing any more rumors he may have about the royal family for fear that doing so would further deteriorate his relationship with them.
Would we want a second book? Well, knowing more about the dark side of the royal family wouldn’t be so bad.
