It has been 26 years since the tragic passing of one of the most beloved royal family members, Princess Diana. The chirpy, free-willed soul of the family died in a tragic car accident in Paris in 1997. While she was traveling in a Mercedes-Benz S280 with her then-partner, Dodi Fayed, the car crashed into a concrete pillar. After Diana, Kate Middleton has emerged as the favorite royal family member.
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, since her marriage to Prince William, has been the most uncontroversial member of the family. She has never embroiled herself in any controversy, and Kate carries on with her royal duties with integrity. She has never talked about her mother-in-law, but in a heartwarming interview, she fondly talked about Princess Diana and the grandmother she would have been to her two kids.

Kate Middleton Confesses Missing Princess Diana Every Day
In April 2023, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited Wales. During interaction with people outside the Dowlais Rugby Club in Merthyr Tydfil, a person pointed out the sapphire engagement ring. In the viral video, Kate talked about the ring, saying, “It’s the same ring, and it’s the same size as when I tried it on. It’s very special. What an honor to be able to wear it.” She also talked fondly about her mother-in-law. Prince William Joked About Princess Diana Being ‘Nightmare Grandmother’
Princess Diana and her legacy live on, and her elder son, Prince William, is trying his best to keep it like that for his kids. During the ITV documentary in 2017 titled ‘Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy,’ he talked about how Princess Diana would have been a grandmother to her children.
In the documentary, Prince William joked, “She’d be a nightmare grandmother, an absolute nightmare. She’d love the children to bits, but… She’d come in probably at bath time, cause an amazing amount of scene—bubbles everywhere, bathwater all over the place—and then leave.”
But he believes that Princess Diana would “have been a lovely grandmother.” William continued, “It’s important they know who she was and that she existed. I think we’re constantly talking about Granny Diana, so we’ve got more photos up around the house now of her, and we talk about her a bit and stuff.”
