Who Is Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor?
Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, also known as Lady Louise Windsor or Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor is the eldest child of Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex. She was born on November 8, 2003, and is the niece of the current king, King Charles III. She is 15th in the line of succession to the throne as of 2022.
At the age of seven, she also participated in the wedding of Prince William and Cate Middleton as a bridesmaid. Lady Louise Windsor studied at St. George’s School and St. Mary’s School Ascot. She also attends the University of St. Andrews and studies English.
Louise and her brother James started getting involved in royal engagements in 2015. They first attended an overseas engagement in South Africa along with their parents. She has also accompanied her mother for various charity events and has also participated in Great British Beach Clean along with her parents. Lady Louise is also a member of Girlguiding. She also learned horseback riding at a young age and also learned carriage driving later, which was her grandfather’s favorite sport.

Lady Louise’s Relationship With The Former Queen And King Consort
According to various royal insiders, Lady Louise was the favorite grandchild of the former Queen and Prince Philip with her brother being a close second. It was reported that she grew closer to her grandparents when she spent several weeks at the Balmoral Castle with them.
The royal insiders spoke about Lady Louise and said, “Louise also endeared herself to everyone by looking after William and Kate’s children when they were up here. Because of her obvious artistic skill, the Queen allowed Louise to look through some of the collection of Queen Victoria’s Highlands sketches which are kept at Balmoral but are rarely dug out these days.”
Lady Louise was also close to Prince Philip and after his death in April 2021, one of his most prized possessions was passed on to Lady Louise. She inherited his carriages and driving ponies as she shared the same interests with her grandfather. She also inherited his dark green steel and aluminum carriage. Lady Louise also drove one of his carriages at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in the presence of the Queen.
