The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was recently seen wearing a peculiar diamond bracelet that her father-in-law, King Charles had gifted her. Her appearance with the bracelet becomes significant as the family is currently mired in a controversy over racial remarks about Prince Archie.
Markle was spotted in Santa Barbara with a low profile in casual attire with sneakers, a baseball cap, and a diamond tennis bracelet. The bracelet had first appeared on Meghan’s wrist one night before her royal wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018 at the Cliveden House Hotel.

Why Is Meghan Markle Wearing The Bracelet Significant?
The speculation about it being a gift from King Charles had emerged when it was spotted first. It was spotted several times afterward on Markle’s wrist, including during her initial engagements as a royal family member. She also wore it during her first major royal tour in Fiji with Prince Harry in the fall of 2018.
However, Markle wearing the bracelet now is more symbolic than it generally would be. The sighting comes amid the controversy over the release of Omid Scobie’s book, ‘Endgame’, wherein he has claimed that King Charles and Princess Catherine made remarks about the skin color of Meghan and Harry’s child.

What Is The Scobie Book Controversy?
Though the English version of the book does not explicitly name the members of the royal family, the Dutch translation of the book reportedly had Charles’ and Catherine’s names in it. Th Dutch publishers had immediately taken the books off the shelves across the Netherlands, citing a “translational error”.
The claims in Scobie’s book came much after Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, wherein the couple had revealed that there were discussions about Archie’s skin color before his birth. They had not disclosed who made those comments at the time.
In response to the controversy, Buckingham Palace has stated that they are “considering all options”. Meanwhile, Princess Kate has refused to comment. A source close to the Sussexes has denied allegations that Markle or her team provided the letter to Scobie, indicating that whatever is written in the book is likely to be entirely false.
