This time at the Invictus Games, the competition is going to get stronger. Maybe because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take sides at the game. Though the Duchess is yet to join the Duke at the Invictus Games, Prince Harry didn’t forget to mention his wife at the Games.
The Invictus Games took off on September 9 with Prince Harry giving an inspiring speech at the opening ceremony. The sixth installment of the game is being held in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Games started in 2014 by the Duke of Sussex, taking inspiration from the Warrior Games held in the United States. It is a way for the injured veterans to work as a team and find a purpose.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle To Get ‘Little Competitive’
Prince Harry didn’t forget to aim a cheeky remark at his wife, Meghan Markle in his speech during the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games. As Harry mentioned in his speech, there are some new nations joining the Invictus Games this year. This includes Colombia, Israel, and Nigeria. This is what has caused more competition in Prince Harry’s household.
“Now, I’m not saying we play favorites in our home, but since my wife discovered she’s of Nigerian descent, it’s likely to get a little bit more competitive this year,” Prince Harry commented. It was in October 2022 that the ‘Suits’ actress opened up that she was 43% Nigerian according to a genealogy test she took years back.
Last year, Meghan Markle had joined the Duke at the Invictus Games and he had begun the opening ceremony by sharing a kiss with her. This year with the preceding weeks being busy for the couple, Meghan will join her husband later this week.

Before joining the Invictus Games in Germany, Prince Harry flew to London to attend the WellChild Awards ceremony on September 7. While talking at the event, the Duke didn’t forget to mention his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
“As you also probably know, she would have been the first person to insist that I still come to be with you all instead of going to her, and that’s precisely why I know exactly one year on that she is looking down on all of us tonight, happy we’re together, continuing to spotlight such an incredible community,” the 38-year-old shared with the audience.
The young royal didn’t leave for Invictus without visiting St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle where his grandmother was buried. On September 8, Prince Harry mourned his grandmother at King George VI Memorial Chapel in the Royal Vault alongside his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
