Who Is Thomas Markle, The Father Of Meghan Markle?
Given the drama surrounding the members of the British Royal Family, there is a lot of fuss surrounding the parents of Meghan Markle. It has been hyped up again after the Netflix release of their docu-series.
The Duchess of Sussex was born to Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle Sr. Thomas, her father, worked as a lighting director on shows like ‘Married With Children’, ‘The Facts of Life’, and ‘General Hospital’ etc.
In 2011, he won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction for a Drama Series for ‘General Hospital’. Thomas’ relationship with Meghan has been troubled as he has been accused of staging pictures with the paps. He has also spoken out about Meghan to the media. In May 2022, Thomas suffered a stroke and has been moving in and out of the hospital ever since.

Harry Blames Himself For Meghan’s Relationship With Her Father
In the documentary, Harry talked about Thomas who did not attend their wedding after the picture-stagging accusations. “Of course, it’s incredibly sad what happened. She had a father before this and now she doesn’t have a father.” he said.
He also “shouldered” the responsibility and said if Meghan “wasn’t with me, then her dad would still be her dad“. Meghan also talked about her father in the same episode.
“H and I called my dad. I said, ‘Look, they’re saying you’re taking money from the tabloids to stage photos. Is this true?’ He says no,” she recalled. Despite her father denying it, Meghan said “I don’t believe him“.
