When Will King Charles‘ Coronation Take Place?
The coronation of King Charles will take place on May 6, 2023. Along with members of the royal family, representatives from the Houses of Parliament, and “leading citizens” from Commonwealth nations will attend Charles’s coronation. Duchess Camilla will also be crowned Queen Consort.
The Queen expressed her “sincere wish” for Camilla to be crowned queen consort upon Charles’ ascension back in February 2022. However, this does imply that Camilla will be crowned in accordance with custom at a “similar but simpler” ceremony.
Camilla will be a monarch, but she won’t be THE monarch (also known as a Queen Regnant). Hence she won’t share King Charles’s authority. The Coronation is a highly anticipated event that the whole world is looking forward to.
