    “Hot Take From A Dude Who Doesn’t Have Kids”: Twitter Mocks Pope Francis For Urging Italians To Have Kids, Not Pets

    Pope Francis has been one of the well-known faces as a head of the Catholic Church and the first pope who is a member of the Society of Jesus. But despite being linked to something which is religious, Francis had his share of controversies over the years.

    Things have been worse for him at a time when Pope Francis was showing support towards all those priests who were charged with sexual abuse. He has also been slammed frequently for the same although he expressed his gratitude towards the journalists for revealing the cases of child abuse scandals. However, his latest statement has led to a similar response on social media.

    Pope Francis said that Italians should have more children instead of pets

    Pope Francis was spotted at Italy’s conservative premier on May 12, 2023, and he told the Italians to have more children. He shared the statement considering the financial problems being faced by young couples alongside the wrong choices that they are making.

    He noted the low birth rate that is a danger to the economic situation of the country. He also requested political action to invert the demographic winter which has led to the disappearance of a huge city in 2022. Francis slammed the couples who are more interested in pets and stated that there should be resources that can help couples in extending their families.

    While Pope Francis’ statement went viral on different platforms, people reacted to the same on social media.

    The latest reports have revealed that Italy had fewer live births in 2022 and Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni has also planned to encourage 500,000 births by 2033 which is important to prevent the economy from getting affected.

    National statistics bureau ISTAT has also reminded everyone about the demography being affected due to fewer births in Italy compared to the figure of 576,659 in 2008. According to ISTAT president Gian Carlo Blangiardo, perfect forecasts have hinted that the Italian population might decrease to 48 million by 2070.
