Madonna Reaches Out To Pope Francis Over Her ‘Blasphemous’ Behavior

Madonna‘s relationship with the Catholic Church has always been tense. The singer has been accused of ‘blasphemy’ for her numerous sexy music videos and live performances. After the release of her Like A Prayer video in 1989, which included burning crosses and sculptures sobbing blood while Madonna seduced “Jesus,” she became entangled in a major scandal.

On Thursday, Madonna tweeted that she wanted to confess and that she is a good Catholic.

    What Did Madonna Tweet?

Recently, she reached out to Pope Francis on Twitter, claiming that she does not have bad faith. Looks like this is the new strategy from the Queen of Pop to get back into good standing with the Catholic Church using whatever means she can.

Pope Francis has said that the Catholic Church should not react with violence when someone blasphemes its beliefs. In comments published by the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano on Saturday: “Blasphemy is an act of contempt for religion, which should be regarded as an offense, but it does not deserve to be punished with prison,” the pope said. “Rather, those who blaspheme must be taught a lesson that would make them think again and change their behavior.”

According to the Associated Press, Madonna met with Pope Francis on Thursday at the Vatican. During their meeting, the singer reportedly discussed her “blasphemous” behaviour and its effect on her career. In addition, the AP reports that the singer expressed interest in receiving guidance from the pope on how to improve her public image and repair relationships with her fans.

In May of this year, Madonna caused a stir when she used profanity during a performance in Lisbon, Portugal. The singer received criticism for her outburst, which some saw as sinful. However, in an interview with CNN at the time. Madonna defended her use of foul language and said that she was not ashamed of who she was.

Critics say that Madonna’s profanity reflects poorly on the Catholic Church and puts herself at odds with religious values. Some have also suggested that her controversial behaviour is designed to shock and provoke audiences. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone. Madonna said her performances are a little bit like a striptease. “It’s like being naked in public,” she further added.

    Truth Of The Matter

The Vatican has not confirmed or denied whether or not the pope met with Madonna. The rumour mill is churning with speculation about what could have transpired during their meeting. One thing is for sure: the pop icon’s past blasphemous behaviour definitely won’t go unnoticed by the church.
