The detectives in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘ manage to keep their calm and fun while working their cases. The New York’s finest have come up with uncanny criminal-victim role plays, and hilarious make-believe that keeps the air of the grave crimes amusing. Their legendary Halloween Heists and Jimmy Jabby tournaments are much-awaited episodes in the seasons. However, these detectives can also turn on their game faces, quite literally, when danger comes to nine-nine.
The set of atypical characters makes the perfect team under high-pressure situations and yes, even Scully and Hitchcock contribute. 10. Undercover
Detective Jake Peralta successfully went undercover for the FBI for six months and made several arrests from the Italian mafia. Not only was this Jake’s dream come true but one of the biggest moments of his career. However, the worst criminal, Freddy Maliardi, slipped from their fingers. Jake doesn’t accept this defeat and goes undercover again in the premiere of season two. His search leads him to question Freddy’s girlfriend who reveals Freddy has fled the country. Jake tries to stop him at the airport but realizes Freddy has again gotten away.
9. The Pontiac Bandit Returns
Doug Judy is fans’ favorite criminal in the ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ series. In season two episode 10, Jake again arrests The Pontiac Bandit. However, Doug still has some tricks and deals up his sleeve to escape. He cuts a deal with the detectives who are desperate for the Giggle Pig supplier’s name. Although Doug is Jake’s nemesis, he is willing to put aside his vendetta to help the bigger drug operation.

8. Maximum Security
In season three, Adrian Pimento had to flee when mafia boss Jimmy ‘The Butcher’ Figgis was out to get the detective, ruining Rosa and Adrian’s wedding plans. However, the squad decided to find the FBI leak that led to Figgis. In episode 21, Amy goes undercover to a maximum security prison in Texas to befriend Muara, Figgis’ sister, and find out about the leak from her. Jake was righty worried for his girlfriend, Amy, as Maura was a dangerous woman in a scary Texas prison.
7. Greg And Larry
In a continuation of the above plot in episode 23, Amy tells Jake that she has missed a crook in the FBI. And it is none other than their help, Bob Annderson (yes the three n’s are correct). Although the squad has Bob under custody, they cannot make the FBI agent turn on Jimmy Figgis. The squad again works harmoniously to trick Bob into telling the truth. Jimmy’s operations are shut down but the season ends with Figgs threatening Jake and Captain Holt. Consequently, they are under protection under the aliases Grey and Larry.
6. The Slaughterhouse
Jake and Rosa are stunned when they discover their idol, Melanie Hawkins, is the mastermind behind a string of bank robberies. In season four episode 21, the detectives take help from Pimento to gather evidence on Hawkins. They assist Hawkins and the Slaughterhouse team in a bank robbery to arrest Hawkins in the act. However, the tables turn when Hawkins frames them for the robberies.

5. The Puzzle Master
A serial arsonist is wreaking havoc in Brooklyn, but Amy is excited to take on the case as it is related to the Sunday crossword puzzle and her favorite puzzle master, Melvin Stermley. In season five episode 15, Jake asks Amy to join her in the case as a reward for passing the Sergent’s exam. Expecting an old man for the puzzle master, Jake is intimidated to discover the young underwear model puzzle master. However, the case takes a wild reveal when they arrest the eccentric arsonist in love with Melvin.
4. White Whale
Although Amy and Rosa work only on a few cases together, it is a beloved female duo. In season five episode 21, they team up to capture their old nemesis and meth empire king, Sergio Mindar. Rosa is disappointed that Amy did not tell her that the amazing-smelling criminal could have gotten away because of her. However, the duo put behind their regrets and work together splendidly to finally catch Sergio, whose grammar errors haunted Amy’s dreams.

3. He Said, She Said
Although they kept their usual spirits high, episode eight of season six delved into one of the gravest crimes of all sexual assault. Keri Brennan reports Seth Haggerty for sexual assault but all know that the case will end up in a he said she said situation. Amy reveals that she was also a victim of harassment and did not accept Keri’s fate when everyone told her to drop the case. She and Jake work the case day and night and are saved by Beefer’s help. Keri’s win inspired her co-worker to come forward too.
2. Sicko
In season six episode 17, the nine-nine precinct is under pressure from the commissioner’s office to solve the case of a ‘sicko’ serial killer, who has brutally murdered three men. Moreover, the killer tears open their chests and rips out their hearts. The detectives solve the case but realize that the commissioner, John Kelly, is illegally spying on civilians to gather “Hot Clues”. Captain Holt, already at war with the commissioner, is determined to take down Kelly with a Suicide Squad.

1. Debbie
Charles inspires Debbie to come out of the shadows and live freely. However, awkward Debbie takes a dark turn when she steals two machine guns and bricks of cocaine from evidence. When she returns in episode five of season seven, the entire precinct is bent on finding the thief. They immediately realize from Debbie’s strange behavior that she is the culprit. However, she has ties to a major gangster, Silvio Nucci. The nine-nine not only brought down the drug lord but also saved Debbie’s sanity, almost.
