Despite being relatively new in the streaming wars, Apple TV is going toe to toe with Netflix and Amazon Prime. They have recruited writer-director Scott Z Burns to create an anthology drama series titled ‘Extrapolations‘. The eight-episode series from Apple TV has the most famous ensemble cast in recent memory.
‘Extrapolations‘ sees people coming together in the wake of climate disasters eating up the world. The show was made with the help of the production company Media Res. Scott Z Burns, Michael Ellenberg, Dorothy Fortenberry, Gregory Jacobs, and Lindsey Springer serve as executive producers on this star-studded ensemble series.

‘Extrapolations’: Plot Details
Scott Z Burns, known for his work on ‘Contagion‘ and ‘The Report’ has made the jump to the OTT platform. For his debut, he created an anthology series about the apocalyptic aftermath of climate change for Apple TV.
The trailer grants us the first look into people in different futures grappling with the end of humanity. Rich or poor, everyone is grappling with the remaining human existence as individuals make a final plea to save the planet.
The official premise for ‘Extrapolations‘ reads, “Eight interconnected stories told over 33 years explore how our planet’s changing climate will affect family, work, faith—and survival.”

With ‘Extrapolations,’ Apple TV has hit the mother lode—many Hollywood A-listers like Maryl Streep, Kit Harington, and David Schwimmer star in the anthology series. International stars like Marion Cotillard and Tahir Rahim will also appear in different roles.
The cast for ‘Extrapolations‘ also features heavy hitters like Sienna Miller, Daveed Diggs, Diane Lane, Yara Shahidi, and Matthew Rhys. Gemma Chan, Tobey Maguire, and Heather Graham, among many other cast members.
Created by Scott Z Burns, Ellen Curas will direct all eight episodes. ‘Extrapolations‘ premieres on March 17, 2023, on Apple TV.
