Two decades after Rick Riordan introduced the world of Greek mythology through a young teenager, Percy Jackson, the world will be coming alive with the new Disney+ series ‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians’. While it is the first time that the book series will be adapted into a TV series format, it is also the only adaptation he has approved of!
In 2012 and 2013, the first book, ‘The Lightning Thief’, was adapted for two films, which garnered mixed reviews, and Rick Riordan hated them. But with the Disney+ series, he, along with Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, wrote and created it. While the saga unfolds on the screen, here’s the proper order to read and dive deep into the adventures of Percy Jackson.

Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief
In 2005, Rick Riordan introduced us to the world of Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy who suffers from dyslexia and ADHD. He engulfed Greek mythology and gave an interesting twist to the story of Greek gods with the first novel from the series titled ‘Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief’.
In the book, Percy realizes his superpower and comes to know that he is a demigod, so he and his friend, Grover, go to the Camp of Half Blood. In the camp, Percy realizes that he is the son of Poseidon, the god of the seas.
But problems start emerging when Zeus accuses Poseidon of stealing his master bolt. Zeus gives him the time of the summer solstice, a period of ten days, to find it. Poseidon takes the help of Percy to find it, but there is something untamed in store for him.
The Sea Of Monsters
After Percy Jackson gets introduced to the world of Camp of Half Blood, the second book from the ‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians’ series introduces another adventure and new demigods to Jackson. While Percy is in Manhattan, he dreams of his friend, Grover, getting chased by unknown monsters, but when he wakes up, he sees a shadow of nothing.
During the last day of his boarding school, Percy plays with Tyson and gets attacked by the Laestrygonians.
When he returns to the Camp of Half Blood, he comes to know that Thalia, the tree that protects the camp, got poisoned. While Chiron is accused of the crime, Percy and others go on a mission to find an artifact as they maneuver the seas of antagonists and learn new secrets.
The Titan’s Curse
The father of gods, Titan, is emerging on the horizon while Percy Jackson, Thalia, daughter of Zeus, and Annabeth, daughter of Athena, get called by Grover as he finds two half-blood siblings, Nico and Bianca. There is also a looming fear of a manticore posing as a teacher at the school. The manticore tells Percy a prophecy that a “great stirring of monsters” is on its way.
Both Percy and Zoe have dreams of Annabeth and Artemis being alive. So, Zoe, Phoebe, Bianca, Thalia, and Grover go to find Artemis, and Percy and the others go to New Mexico. Later, Percy, Zoe, and Thalia find Artemis and Annabeth held captive by the head Titan, as Artemis has the curse of holding the world’s burden on his shoulder. Percy gets burdened for some time while Artemis fights Atlas. After some unfortunate deaths and negotiations, the team reunited.

The Last Battle Of The Labyrinth
One of the most interesting of all the books, the 2011’s ‘The Last Battles of the Labyrinth’ takes on a journey to find the Labyrinth on the Camp of Half Blood Land. Grover is trying to find Pan, the god of the wild. The group suspects that Kronos and his force will use the labyrinth to attack the camp, as it is shielded from the fleece. They take help from the creator of Labyrinth, Daedalus, to have Ariadne’s string, which protects them through navigation.
However, there is another problem that arises. As Bianca dies during the battle with Atlas, Nico blames Percy for the death of his sister. Minos takes advantage of the situation to achieve his vendetta. As they go ahead on their journey to find Daedalus, they summon Bianca’s spirit, who tells Nico to forgive Jackson.
Percy Jackson takes help from Rachel to find the creator of Labyrinth, but when they reach him, they come to know that he has already given the string to Titan’s army. When they come back to the camp, the group fights the army and finds Pan, who is dying. He wants them to take their message of saving the wild to the world.
The Last Olympian
Percy Jackson and the Camp of Half Blood prepare for the battle between the demigods and Titans to save their homeland, Olympus. There is another war waging at the sea, and Percy goes to help Poseidon and his brother. But his father tells him to go and help to protect the camp and fight Kronos.
Kronos possesses the body of Luke, who is also the dissenter of the gods. So, Nico and Percy decide to visit Luke’s mother, where they come to know that she is cursed by Hades and that the Oracle’s spirit will never leave her body. Due to his resentment towards his parents, Luke joins forces with Kronos.
After bathing in the River Styx, as per the suggestion of Hestia, the last Olympian, Percy, and his friends go to Olympus to fight the battles with Kronos. During the battle, an unfortunate death happens when Percy asks the gods to have a commune with their mortal children.
The Chalice of Gods
The latest in the ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is ‘The Chalice of Gods’. In the book, Percy Jackson is not burdened with the job of saving the world but with gathering his life together—to get into college. As he desires to get into New Rome University, he requires a recommendation letter from all three gods.
While getting that, Percy Jackson and the group go on a quest to find the missing cup of Ganymede, which will make any mortal immortal. The group goes to find the missing chalice. They have to find it before anyone else finds it.
