Fans of ‘The Bear‘ are suddenly worried the kitchen may be closing for good. Emmy-winner Jamie Lee Curtis posted a message after filming that sounded more like a farewell.
The concern is that the show has already been renewed, yet Curtis’ post suggested a complete story rather than another chapter. Viewers are now questioning whether the series is being wrapped up rather than continuing beyond its next release.
Jamie Lee Curtis’ Message Starts ‘The Bear’ Cancellation Rumors

After finishing filming, Jamie Lee Curtis praised the cast and crew of creator Chris Storer’s series. Most importantly, she wrote they were “completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.” She also added that she got to finish it alongside her “baby Berzatto bear,” tagging Abby Elliott.

Because the caption sounded broader than a mere character exit, many fans took it as a goodbye to the entire Berzatto storyline rather than only Donna’s arc. Meanwhile, FX declined to comment when asked about the post.
The silence raised more questions, especially since the network renewed the show for Season 5 last July and expects it to premiere later this year. However, an official date still hasn’t been announced.
Why Viewers Think Season 5 Might Be The End

At the moment, nothing suggests a traditional cancellation. The series remains popular and still stars like Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Even so, Curtis’ hint points toward a planned ending rather than an abrupt stop. Season 4, which dropped all ten episodes last June, moved several storylines toward resolution.

Carmy faced consequences tied to his past behavior, relationships changed, and the restaurant reached an important stage in its future. Because of that direction, the phrase “completing the story” feels like a natural next step. Therefore, many fans now believe Season 5 was written as the final chapter instead of a setup for more seasons.
If the show ends after Season 5, it wouldn’t be a disappointment. The story revolves around grief, healing, and repairing family bonds, so a clear conclusion would fit the narrative perfectly.
