‘Succession’ Season 4: Who Is Logan Roy’s Successor?

It’s a shame that the new ‘Succession’ episode is called ‘Wedding States’ and not ‘A Congregation Of Jackals.’ As Logan predicted, the night of the long knives is here. The blades are ready to slice and dice to get what they want. Everything or nothing in the wild wild west of ‘Succession.’

As mourners arrive and schemers devise, the question of Logan Roy’s successor creates factions among factions. These are testing times for the Roys as they deal with installing an interim leader. Truth comes out, and venom is spilled, with some family members getting the short end of the stick.

Friends, family, and colleagues turn up at Logan’s wake. With the old guard finally fallen, moves are being made to ensure the entire universe doesn’t run off course. There must be a name to lead the Roys and bring home the GoJo deal with Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård). The board wants to take over, but the Roy siblings want to choke them out and keep the empire in the family.

While everyone is planning how to move forward in a way that benefits them, a document comes to Frank’s (Peter Friedman) knowledge. This document states that Logan (Brian Cox) wanted Kendall (Jeremy Strong) to lead after him. Given his history with sobriety and his dad, everyone immediately turns blue at the idea of Kendall being the CEO.

Hilarity ensues as everyone finds the most innocuous ways to question the document’s authenticity and discredit Logan Roy’s final wishes. There’s a fraction among siblings, but the decision is finally made. In the interim, Kendall and Roman (Kieran Culkin) will function as the Co-CEOs, with Siobhan (Sarah Snook) in the loop for all running operations. The PR team brings up a strategy where the company falling standards can be attributed to Logan’s poor decision. Roman immediately shuts it down, but Kendall secretly gives his approval.

‘Succession’ Season 4: How Will Pregnancy Impact Siobhan’s Future On The Show?

Once again, Siobhan gets sidelined on ‘Succession’

The biggest bombshell on ‘Wedding States‘ was Siobhan receiving affirmative news of her pregnancy. This is, unfortunately, the worst thing for her. Siobhan always has to fight for a shot to sit at the boy’s table. Everyone in Logan’s circle is unsure of Siobhan as she lacks experience, even with her brothers. Despite being politically savvy, the board members have always disregarded her as raw and ineffective.

The fallout from Logan’s betrayal in season 4 brings the siblings together. But now that Kendall and Roman are acting Co-CEOs, Siobhan is alone. Alone and pregnant. Having this child will take Shiv away from any opportunity to rise above her rank in the company’s hierarchy. Once again, the show masterfully uses Siobhan to highlight gender politics and sex being a deterrent to a woman’s standing in the workplace.
