Two central characters that the prequel will explore are Soldier Boy and Stormfront and their early days. Stormfront played by Aya Cash, was introduced in season 2 of ‘The Boys‘ as the latest addition to The Seven and was later revealed to have a Nazi past. Fan-favorite Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, showed up in season 3 and was the first successful superhero created by Vought decades earlier.

Vought Rising‘ will show Stormfront in her original get-up as Liberty and delve into how she and Soldier Boy first encountered each other in the mid-20th century. Given both characters have enhanced longevity, thanks to Compound V in their systems, the series provides an opportunity for them to showcase their exploits in the post-World War 1940s era as the American culture entered a new period in time.

As the title implies, a central focus of ‘Vought Rising‘ will be the discovery and growth of the corporation in the 1950’s. This prequel series will depict how Vought first monetized the supes and also their commercialization. It might focus on the company’s propaganda efforts to influence American patriotism through their main man Soldier Boy.

With the announcement of ‘Vought Rising‘, ‘The Boys‘ universe is being expanded in interesting ways. Fans will get to witness familiar supes in a whole new perspective as the origin story of Vought unfolds. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash returning to their well-appreciated roles, adds a great promise for what will be an entertaining backstory in the universe. With Eric Kripke at the helm, this prequel has the potential to be one of the most subversive entries in the franchise when it enters production.
