“He’s A Psychopathic Narcissist”: ‘The Boys’ Star Antony Starr Gets Offended Over Fans Assuming He Is Like Homelander In Real Life

Antony Starr put up a stellar performance in ‘The Boys’ as Homelander and fans have been praising the actor for his role as the show’s villain. Starr, who has been going viral- thanks to the show’s success is also a wonderful person in real life, even if fans assume otherwise.

The actor recently opened up about how he feels about being compared to his antagonist role, implying that he feels ‘slightly offended’ when people realise he doesn’t relate as much to his role on the show. Here’s everything he said.

Antony Starr Doesn’t Like Being Compared To Homelander

Following the premiere of season four of The Boys, Antony Starr had a chat with Rolling Stone about his experience working on the show. Starr’s phenomenal skills on screen are reflected on the audience’s feelings towards Homelander and how they have truly started associating him with the character.

In the interview, Starr stated that while this is a great testament to his acting capacity,  it does take a toll on him when he is compared to a character as villainous. “People are surprised, like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re actually not like him,’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, he’s a psychopathic narcissist. So yeah, thanks. Thank you for that.’” he said.    

He also revealed that staff members and occasionally even the cast avoid him when he is in costume on set. They are reluctant to speak to him and are always terrified to be in his presence.

The fourth season of ‘The Boys’ has brought back fans’ favourite antagonist back as he continues to thrill fans with his  shenanigans. While many have labelled it the best season so far, many have also praised the show’s themes, CGI and of course a wonderful cast.

The show also did some brilliant marketing skills as they gave fans an opportunity to interact with Homelander via social media and even published a satirical interview for fans.
