9. There’s The Rub

Season 2, Episode 16, “There’s The Rub” sees Lorelai and Emily heading off to spend a weekend together at a health spa. On the other hand, Rory looks forward to spending a rare evening alone at home.
That plan changes quickly when Paris comes over for a study session, and Jess also shows up bringing their food. The conversation between Jess and Paris is gold, and we get to see the trio bond over their shared interests.
8. The Road Trip To Harvard

Season 2, Episode 4, “The Road Trip to Harvard” follows the girls as they embark on a road trip to visit Rory’s dream school and end up staying at a very unusual bed and breakfast. This happens after Lorelai backs out from her wedding with Max at the last minute.
It was a much-needed trip for the mother-daughter duo to escape their lives for a while as they go off on their own. And while Rory dreams about her future, we also get to see Lorelai think about the life she could have had.
7. Last Week Fights, This Week Tights

“Last Week Fights, This Week Tights” sees everyone heading to Liz’s Renaissance-themed wedding where Jess walks her down the aisle. And we also get to see Luke and Lorelai share a romantic dance, which eventually leads to Luke asking her out on a date.
While the slow-burn romance between the two is the main star, it is also true that almost every episode where we get to see a big event happening at Stars Hollow instantly becomes a favourite episode. Plus, the ceremony was arguably one of the most beautiful weddings ever and we all wished we were present for it.
6. A-Tisket, A-Tasket

In “A-Tisket, A-Tasket”, we again see the town of Stars Hollow and its eccentric residents coming together. It follows their annual basket auction, a town-wide fundraiser event where women prepare baskets and men bid to win lunch with their makers.
The episode gave us some of the coziest settings in the series, from Luke and Lorelai sharing a lunch beneath a gazebo to Rory and Jess spending time together on a bridge. It is truly scenes like these that make this show so comforting and rewatchable.

5. Rory’s Birthday Parties

This one was a quintessential ‘Gilmore Girls’ episode as we follow the girls on Rory’s birthday. From opening on a very heartwarming note to the drama at her grandparents’ party to an eventual happy ending at her second birthday party at home, it is an episode we can never get tired of rewatching.
“Rory’s Birthday Parties” was also one of the biggest showcases of the very different world that Rory is becoming a part of. And it also gave both her grandparents and us a chance to experience the life Lorelai and Rory have built together.
4. Love And War And Snow

This is the first snow episode of ‘Gilmore Girls’, and it is impossible not to feel as giddy as Lorelai when we see Stars Hollow cloaked in snow like that. While Rory finds herself stuck at her grandparents’ house, she uses the opportunity to introduce them to some Gilmore girl’s signature dinner.
Meanwhile, Lorelai runs into Max and invites him back home. There is also Lane, heartbroken from her recent romantic pursuits and Rory’s sudden absence in her life. “Love and War and Snow” captures the magic of the first snowfall as well as all the excitement that comes with it.
3. Forgiveness And Stuff

“Forgiveness and Stuff” is one of the most emotional episodes in the series as Richard Gilmore is rushed to the hospital. Luke steps in to take Lorelai there, and she confronts her troubled relationship with her parents. The episode dives into the deeper sides of every character and their relationship.
Although it is very emotional, it is precisely vulnerable moments like these that help us understand and connect with the characters. At the same time, the episode doesn’t lack its usual charming humour and heartwarming moments.
2. The Bracebridge Dinner

Season 2, Episode 10 “The Bracebridge Dinner” is one of the most enjoyable episodes of ‘Gilmore Girls’. When a booking for a themed dinner party at the Independence Inn falls through because of a snowstorm, Lorelai invites the residents of Stars Hollow to enjoy the feast prepared by Sookie.
With the Elizabethan costumes and horse-drawn sleigh rides, the celebration was one of a kind. And of course, it didn’t miss out on the usual Stars Hollow antics. It is funny and dramatic in all the best ways, but it is seeing Rory with Jess and Lorelai with Luke taking the sleigh ride and reflecting on some rising emotions that truly stayed memorable.
1. Pilot

The pilot episode of ‘Gilmore Girls’ is arguably the most nostalgic of them all, sweeping us into the whimsical world of Stars Hollow and its eccentric but beloved residents. As we follow Lorelai and Rory through their everyday adventures, we are introduced to the town’s quirky characters, Rory’s acceptance into Chilton and Lorelai’s difficult decision to contact her estranged parents.
Every rewatch brings back the familiar atmosphere of endless cups of coffee, small-town antics, and that very special storytelling technique that makes this series feel so much like home.
