On September 14, 2009, ‘The Dr. Oz Show‘ aired its first episode. It was hosted by Turkish-American surgeon Mehmet Cengiz Oz. The doctor had become famous even before he started his television presence. An attending surgeon and professor of surgery, Oz also took to incorporate meditation, acupuncture, hypnosis, and other methods into his treatment.
With the publication of his book ‘YOU: The Owner’s Manual’ with Michael F. Roizen, the surgeon became more famous among the people. He started to make regular appearances on various television programs, including ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’. The celebrity status that the doctor attained led to the creation of his own program ‘The Dr.Oz Show’. So, why was it canceled?

What Was The Reason To End ‘The Dr.Oz Show’?
The last episode of the multi-award-winning talk show, ‘The Dr. Oz Show’ happened on January 14, 2022. The program’s finale was earlier announced by Sony Pictures Television on December 13, 2021.
Dr. Mehmat Oz had decided to run for the Republican primary for the US Senate seat in Pennsylvania. His candidacy was announced in November 2021. This is the reason why the program dealing with health and medical matters came to an end.
As America’s Doctor decided to focus on politics for some time, he would be unable to continue hosting the self-titled talk show. In addition, the ‘equal-time rule’ for candidates states that the two candidates be given equal broadcast air time.

Will ‘The Dr.Oz Show’ Return?
After ‘The Dr.Oz Show‘ was canceled and it was replaced by a cooking show ‘The Good Dish’ by Dr. Oz’s daughter Daphne Oz alongside Gail Simmons and Jamika Pessoa. Back then, there were talks to revive the program for two more seasons in 2023.
But now the surgeon is finding it difficult to revive back his television presence after he failed the US Senate run in his adopted state of Pennsylvania. Also, his former producers have already abandoned the celebrity surgeon. However, according to Radar Online, small roles have been apparently offered to Dr. Oz on Fox News and Newsmax.
